Why not come along and enjoy a heart-warming true story, as the evenings start to draw in.

On Wednesday 13th September, we will be showing the 2019 film “Fisherman’s Friends”, which tells the story of a cynical London music exective who hear a singing group of Cornish fishermen whilst on a stag weekend. He believes that they can achieve a top ten hit and sets out to convince them that he is right.

On Wednesday 11th October, we will be showing the 2022 sequel “Fisherman’s Friends: One for All, which continues the story after they have performed on the pyramis stage at Glastonbury and are now struggling with their second album. During a divisive tour of South Australia, they trace their ancestors and embrace a new community, discovering their musical DNA.

Our ticket price of £5 includes a cup of tea or coffee at the interval.

The Stanhope Hall committee are very pleased to announce the return of the Community Cinema. These were always very popular evenings and we hope that they will be again.

We are starting with a fabulous film “A Man Called Otto” staring Tom Hanks, as the most grumpy man you will ever meet.

The film will start at 7.30pm, and seats are limited, so please come along in plenty of time.

The admission charge will include refreshments at the interval. Cash only please.

Last Friday, 24th March, the Stanhope Hall committee held a bingo night to help raise funds for the ongoing upkeep of the Hall.

The bingo evening was compered by the incomparable Aaron Barnard, and a fun evening was had by all who attended, with some great prizes, including pizza vouchers from Off The Stone.

Many thanks to all who attended, and all those that helped out on the evening.

The Stanhope Hall committee organised a Table Top sale on Saturday 4th March, as part of their fundraising efforts for the ongoing upkeep of the Hall.

The sale was very well attended, with over 30 stalls present, ranging from local charities, small businesses and people clearing out their attics! There was something for everyone.

It was so popular, that most people were asking when the next one will be – watch this space for details!

The Stanhope Hall’s committee organised a Fashion Show evening, to raise funds for the ongoing upkeep of the hall. Lincs Fashions came to Stanhope Hall on Friday 10th March and with volunteer models, held a runway of some of the clothes that were for sale on the evening. Some great brand names were available, such as Monsoon, M&S and Next, at greatly reduced prices.

Along with the raffle and tea & cakes, the evening raised hundred of pounds for the coffers.

The Stanhope Hall committee would like to extend their grateful thanks to everyone one who helped on the evening, particularly the models, Lucy Mosdell and Rachel Armitage.
