“The Great Escaper” starring Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson
Our first film of the year will be The Great Escaper, based on a true story about Bernard Jordan who absconded from his care home in Hove, to attend the 70th anniversary D-Day event being held in France.
Bernie’s adventure, spanning a mere 48 hours, also marked the culmination of his 60-year marriage to Rene (Glenda Jackson) – THE GREAT ESCAPER celebrates their enduring love but always with an eye to the lessons we might learn from the Greatest Generation.
Screening – Monday 11th March @ 7pm in meeting room 1 (downstairs) in The Stanhop Hall. Tickets are £5 on the door, including tea or coffee at the interval.
